Upper Gwynedd Fire Department is looking for Volunteers - While it may surprise you to learn that fire protection is provided in Upper Gwynedd by 50 volunteers who receive no compensation at all, this is the norm, not the exception. Approximately 97% of the fire companies in the Commonwealth are volunteer. Upper Gwyneed Fire Department will always need new volunteers and, in this the members of community can help. It is important to find and attract from the immediate community, new volunteers, young and old, who are willing to share in this important work. We are looking for firefighters, quick response medical personnel, junior firefighers, special fire police, and active members that can help at fundraisers and take care of administrative duties.
